Head Coach

Coach Jackson has a true passion for teaching through athletics.

Jackson, a Charleston, South Carolina native, is approaching his second season as head softball coach at Voorhees College. At the completion of his first season as head coach, the Lady Tigers placed third within the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference in 2014.

Jackson has worked in the public school system since 2009, which is when he became an employee of Orangeburg Consolidated District 5 schools. During his tenure in the OCSD5 school district, Jackson served as a teacher, teacher assistant, tutor/counselor and campus administrator.

Jackson received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Voorhees College in 2008. As an alumnus of Voorhees, Jackson promotes school pride to his players and reminds them that academics can take them anywhere that athletics can’t. He also received his master’s degree in business administration from Claflin University in 2011. Jackson uses a combination of education and experience to influence his team to never stop attaining knowledge.

Jackson wants to be assured that his athletes are equipped for a transition at any time saying, “College is only a single chapter of their lives, but what they learn and apply while in college will last a lifetime. My goal is to prepare each student athlete for a role, not only on a team, but in life. Every role will not be a leadership role, but every role is essential for individual and group success. Success favors the prepared, and we as a team will favor success.”
