Work-Study
Through the federal government, this program finds part-time jobs for
students, allowing them to earn money to pay for their educations. The
jobs encourage community service work and often are related to the
student's major.
Students work an assigned number of hours a week, depending on how much
aid they'll receive under the program. They're paid the federal minimum
wage.
All work-study students must obtain a study contract from the Office of
Student Financial Aid before reporting to work. The contract will
explain the hours to be worked, how and when students are paid and
other terms. Students will work either for Voorhees College or for an
approved off-campus agency. In order to continue to be eligible for
work-study, work performance must be satisfactory at all times.
Priority for these funds is given to freshmen and sophomores to help reduce or eliminate loan indebtedness in the early years.
