Dear Returning Students:
As the summer winds down, we are excited about your return to the College on Thursday, August 9, 2012 for registration and moving into the residence halls. While the planning for your return continues, we hope that you are adequately doing the same in anticipation for a spirited year of positive change. There are so many new developments that we feel very confident you will enjoy them during your matriculation this year.
We want to ensure that all students are safe and acting responsibly. It is my hope that you will abide by the policies of the College as you re-enter these hollow walls. I ask that you respect those that function on behalf of the College as I would ask them to do the same. I would rather not have any of you come before the Judicial Council for actions that could have been avoided. Actions that put you and/or others at risk will not be tolerated. Please act accordingly so this will be a very successful year.
The Student Government Association is working very hard to lead by example and is in discussion with administration about their expectations for us all. The SGA President, Darrius Snow, is diligently occupied with several proposals for your benefit, our students. We invite you to become an integral part of the activities that will be provided for you to support your academic pursuit.
Additionally, beginning this Fall 2012, all Greek-Letter organizations, social groups and those students interested in joining these organizations will be required to attend an annual anti-hazing workshop. The first workshop is scheduled for Thursday, September 6th. You will begin to hear more information about this upon your return in August.
There are plenty of changes to come as we look to positively stimulate and impact your minds and lives during your matriculation here at Voorhees College. We look forward to your return for the new academic year of exciting opportunities. See you in August!!!
