Nationally-ranked Voorhees track team successful at UNC Chapel Hill Invitation

Voorhees College All-American Jeffrey Pendergrass, a sophomore, finished first in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.84 at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Invitation on Feb. 12.

In addition to Pendergrass, there were two additional athletes from Voorhees men’s team who finished in the top five at the meet. Freshman Michael Gaither finished third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.68 and All-American Quintin Bell, a junior, finished fourth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.91.

Also finishing in the top ten were Jasper Fell, a junior, in the 60-meter hurdles and the men’s 4x400 team led by Michael Gaither, Isaiah Lee, a sophomore, Jeffrey Pendergrass and Jonathan Singleton, a freshman.

Pendergrass and Bell are currently ranked in the top three for the NAIA Division.

The women’s track team also came back successful with Raven White, a sophomore, qualifying for the NAIA Nationals in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.78 and in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.98.

The nationally-ranked Voorhees College men and women’s track and field team will be back in action at USC in Columbia on Saturday, Feb. 20.
