Institutional Scholarships
Scholarships Available at Voorhees College
Listed below are yearly scholarships that are funded by the title organizations. Students are encouraged to apply in the Fall semester for the awarding of these scholarships. Additional scholarships are sent at various times during the school year. These will be posted on the Web site and email notices will be sent. You are encouraged to visit the Web site periodically to view new arrivals and determine your eligibility.

1. THE ASSOCIATION OF EPISCOPAL COLLEGES CHARITABLE SERVICE SCHOLARSHIP
Who May Apply: New freshmen or currently enrolled students
Criteria used for consideration:
· Perform volunteer and/or charitable service for the College, Church, or Community
· Good academic standing; minimum GPA 3.0
· Good moral character
· Financial need
2. THE D. L. SCURRY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
Who May Apply: New freshmen
Criteria used for consideration:
· Good Academic Standing, minimum GPA 3.5
· Financial need
· SAT Score: 1,000
(will accept 950 ranked in upper 10% of class with recommendation from Counselor or Principal)
3. PROVINCE OF SEWANEE SCHOLARSHIP
Who May Apply: New freshmen
Criteria used for consideration:
· High Academic Achievement; GPA: 3.0
· Financial Need
· SAT Score: 850
(will accept 700 if ranked in upper 10% of class and has a recommendation from Counselor)
4. THE JEROME GEATHERS SCHOLARSHIP
Who May Apply: All Students
Criteria used for consideration:
· Good Academic Standing; GPA 2.5 and higher
· Financial Need
· High Moral Character
· Commitment to Excellence
5. FRAZIER FAMILY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
Who May Apply: Entering Freshmen
Criteria used for consideration:
· Resident of the state of South Carolina
· Financial Need
· GPA: 2.0 during previous semester in College or high school
6. RITA J. ROBINSON SCHOLARSHIP
Who May Apply: Full-time, four-year students
Criteria used for consideration:
· Native of South Carolina
· Major in the Sciences (BS Program)
· GPA 3.0
7. MARSHALL B. BASS SCHOLARSHIP
Who May Apply: Entering Freshmen
Criteria used for consideration:
· Resident of South Carolina
· 3.0 cumulative grade point average
· Good academic standing
8. LEROY LEWIS BOOK FUND
Who May Apply: Entering Freshmen
Criteria used for consideration:
· Two awards: (1) female and (1) male
· Cumulative Grade Point Average 2.5
· Resident of Greenville County preferred
· Other counties considered: Hampton, Anderson, Spartanburg
· Majors in Biology or Teacher Education
· Scholarship can be used towards tuition, books, or supplies only
9. DAVID MILLER SCHOLARSHIP
Who May Apply: Entering Freshmen
Criteria used for consideration:
· Student majoring in Mass Communications or related field of study
· 3.0 cumulative grade point average
· Resident of South Carolina
10. GEORGE G. & LYN B. VOORHEES III HONORS COLLEGE BOOK COLLECTIONS
Who May Apply: Entering Freshmen
Criteria used for consideration:
· Students will be given book vouchers
· Only books can be purchased
· Books must be returned at the end of the semester to be housed in special library in Honors College
