Voorhees College

Fall Orientation at Voorhees College begins the week before classes start. The week-long program is a time to take care of details – everything from getting your email set up and buying your books to figuring out where your classes are and visiting with financial aid officials.

But it's also a time to get to know Voorhees and to have fun with your new classmates. There are barbecues and luaus. Tennis and basketball tournaments. Movies and karaoke.

It's also a time to think seriously about your future, with Voorhees staff and faculty who lead discussions on topics such as deciding on a major. We'll talk about campus safety and offer advice on taking care of your money.

And there are formal events as well, such as the annual Legacy Dinner that features a recent Voorhees graduate as the keynote speaker. Fall Orientation closes with the Candlelight Matriculation held around the Ebenezer, a historic rock that symbolizes the faith and determination of Voorhees’ founder Elizabeth Evelyn Wright.

At the end of the ceremony, you can consider yourself an official member of the Voorhees family. Congratulations!
