From the time the first disc jockey signed on in 2004, campus radio station WVCD 790 AM has been an integral part of campus communications, as well as a chance for mass communications majors to gain valuable experience.
Then in 2019, our low power translator FM station 96.5 FM debuted. Located in the Leonard E. Dawson Health & Human Resources Center and on your radio at 96.5 FM 790 AM, WVCD’s format is Urban Adult Contemporary, which features gospel, jazz, blues and classic R&B and hip hop.
Along with great music, WVCD is also community minded with portions of programing focusing on news and events. The station also sponsors events on campus and serves as a learning lab for students.
Voorhees University is stepping into the exciting world of podcasts! This innovative initiative will create a platform for various members of the Voorhees community to share their voices and perspectives.
Listeners can expect engaging student-led discussions on curated topics, insightful conversations with esteemed faculty and staff, and even a dedicated platform featuring the University’s President.
This venture promises to enrich Voorhees’ social media presence, foster a stronger sense of community, and potentially attract sponsorships to enhance the student experience further.
