Hazing Transparency & Prevention Report
Overview
Voorhees University is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment. In accordance with the Stop Campus Hazing Act (SCHA) and South Carolina law, the University prohibits hazing in any form and promotes transparency, prevention, and accountability across all student organizations, athletics, and campus activities.
Definition of Hazing
Hazing is defined as any intentional, knowing, or reckless act committed by a person or group against another individual that endangers physical or mental health, causes humiliation, or interferes with academic participation as a condition of membership, initiation, or affiliation with any organization. Hazing is prohibited regardless of consent.
Voorhees University Policy on Hazing
Hazing is strictly prohibited under the Voorhees University Student Code of Conduct and Student Activities and Organizations Policies. Violations may result in disciplinary action up to and including suspension, expulsion, organizational deactivation, and referral to law enforcement, consistent with state and federal law.
Hazing Transparecy Statement
For the Fall 2025 semester, Voorhees University has received zero (0) reported incidents of hazing. This information is published in compliance with the Stop Campus Hazing Act and South Carolina law and will be updated annually.
Prevention and Education Efforts
Voorhees University engages in ongoing hazing prevention each semester through mandatory training for student leaders, Greek-letter organizations, athletic teams, and advisors; educational programming; and proactive monitoring of student activities.
How to Report Suspected Hazing
Any student, employee, or community member who witnesses or suspects hazing is encouraged to report the incident immediately. Reports may be submitted online, in person, or anonymously without fear of retaliation.

Protection Against Retaliation
Retaliation against any individual who reports hazing in good faith is strictly prohibited and constitutes a separate violation of University policy.
