In celebration of its 125th year of existence on April 7, 2022, Voorhees College was renamed Voorhees University to honor founder, Elizabeth Evelyn Wight. Voorhees University is a private, diverse, historically black, coeducational, liberal arts, baccalaureate degree-granting institution affiliated with the Episcopal Church. Position: Auxiliary Graduate Faculty (EdD) – K-12 Focused
Division: Academic Affairs
Salary Range: $30,000
FLSA Classification: Salaried, Exempt
Position Type/Duration: Half Time/12 months
Position Schedule: Courses scheduled as needed: 8:00 am – 9:00 pm, Monday – Saturday

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Teach core and K-12 concentration courses in the Ed.D. program.
  • Implement effective instructional strategies to achieve course learning objectives.
  • Contribute to ongoing assessment and continuous improvement of the Ed.D. program.
  • Mentor and advise doctoral candidates throughout their program of study.
  • Serve on dissertation committees, providing timely and constructive feedback on manuscripts.
  • Uphold the highest standards of integrity and expectations for all students while offering useful feedback for improvement.
  • Develop and/or maintain an active research and publishing agenda in higher education or another academic discipline.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Department, School, or University.

EDUCATION

  • Must have an earned doctorate degree (PhD or EdD) in educational leadership or educational administration from an accredited university

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in a higher education setting/agency.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Three (3) years of teaching experience in an accredited online program.
  • Leadership experience in higher education at least as the department chair, director, or dean levels.
  • Experience in academic advisement and guiding Ed.D. students in their research.
  • Prior teaching experience in an accredited doctoral (Ed.D. or Ph.D.) program.
  • Prior experience serving as a dissertation chair or dissertation committee member.
