Joshua Duncan Keynotes Voorhees University’s Chapel Service

Denmark, S.C. – Voorhees University senior Joshua Duncan, served as the guest speaker for the university’s Chapel Service on February 28, in the St. Philip’s Chapel. The theological studies major spoke from the biblical text, Psalms 61:1-3, with his sermon topic being “Can God trust you with trouble?” Mentioning that relationships are the key to success, he encouraged students to be careful who they associate themselves with. “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know. In college, you’re going to hang around that you might need to get from around. Be watchful in your connection. Iron sharpens iron.,” said Duncan.

The future minister and leader of tomorrow also inspired The Voorhees university that through Christ Jesus they are more than a conqueror. He added that prayers and tears always end with praise. After closing his sermon, Duncan received a standing ovation from the audience. “You are victorious that God saw you fit. Never forget that.”, he said. Duncan also expressed gratitude to his mother and church family who were in the audience.
