Voorhees to discuss Affordable Care Act during assembly

On Thursday, Jan. 30 at 11 a.m., Voorhees College will host an all-college and community assembly where the Affordable Health Care Act will be highlighted.

During the assembly, Carrie Sinkler-Parker, who has aided the Obama Administration with sustaining a reasonable health care act, will speak on the importance of the Affordable Health Care Act and give instructions on how to apply, where to apply and when the deadline to apply is.

Sinkler-Parker is a native of Alcolu, S.C. and received a bachelorís degree from Barber-Scotia College. She went on to attend the University of South Carolina, where she obtained a masterís degree in public health and a graduate certificate in gerontology. 

Sinkler-Parkerís career has consisted of her never-ending pursuit of a way to make quality health care more convenient and her fight for social issues concerning and impacting the elderly.

This event will be held on the campus of Voorhees College in Massachusetts Hall Auditorium and is open to the community.
