Institute's Overview, Vision, and Mission
Under the direction of the Associate Director, the Institute for First-Year Experience and
Students in Transition contributes to developing comprehensive First-Year Experience and
beyond programs and initiatives that deliberately connect applicable academic and student affairs departments and services to support all students, including first-year and sophomore experience, international, transfer, VU Online, and off-campus-instructional students within their curricular and co-curricular development and success.
Mission:

Department Goals:
The Institute for First-Year Experience and Students in Transition strives to foster intentional connections between students and collaborative support services within the Voorhees University community that promote holistic student development, implement and coordinate comprehensive and diverse campus-wide initiatives, programming, practices, and services that support undergraduates’ first/second years, transition, international experience, and success, and encourage and support students’ academic matriculation and momentum toward degree completion.
