Voorhees University is proud to announce that two of its exceptional students, Lawrenz Ellman-Sanders and Shemar Stewart, have been selected for the White House Initiative on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity through Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). This year’s cohort signifies the program’s persistent effort to recognize and empower exceptional students.
Lawrenz Ellman-Sanders, a senior majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship from Greenville, South Carolina, and Shemar Stewart, a junior studying Computer Science and Cybersecurity from Portland, Jamaica, are among the 110 students honored this year. They join a distinguished group of scholars selected from 80 HBCUs, marking the 10th anniversary of the initiative. This esteemed recognition celebrates their outstanding academic achievements, leadership potential, and commitment to their communities.
