Voorhees University Alumnus Lynwood F. Givens Elected 28th Most Worshipful Grand Master in South Carolina

DENMARK, S.C. – Voorhees University proudly announces that alumnus Lynwood Fitzgerald Givens has been elected the 28th Most Worshipful Grand Master of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of South Carolina. His election took place on December 13, 2025, marking a significant milestone in his extensive Masonic and community leadership career.

A native of Florence, South Carolina, Givens grew up in the Pamplico. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Voorhees University and later completed a Master’s in Human Resource Development from Webster University. He currently serves as the Purchasing Agent for the City of Florence and is an active member of Pee Dee Baptist Church. He is also a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

A 33º Degree Mason, Givens has held numerous leadership positions across Prince Hall Freemasonry, including Past Master of St. Luke Lodge #171, Past Commander-In-Chief of McDonald Consistory #226, and Past Illustrious Potentate of Bejilah Temple #163. Within the Grand Lodge, he previously served as District Deputy of the Ninth Masonic District, Right Worshipful Junior Grand Warden, Senior Grand Warden, and most recently, Right Worshipful Deputy Grand Master before being elected Grand Master.
