Voorhees University Partners with Lady G Creation for UNCF General Application Day

Voorhees University, in partnership with Lady G Creation of Columbia, SC, successfully hosted a FREE Clothing Drive as part of the UNCF General Application Day, which took place on campus. The event, coordinated by Voorhees’ Director of University Scholarships, Mr. Marion Wright, was aimed at encouraging students to complete the General Application for UNCF, a critical step in gaining access to scholarships and internship opportunities.

Through the generosity of Ms. Shirley P. Goodwin, owner of Lady G Creation, students were able to select from a wide array of FREE clothing and accessories, providing not only financial relief but also boosting their confidence and professional presentation. The specialty clothing store, known for its custom-made apparel, played an instrumental role in the success of this initiative.

Over 150 students participated in the event, making it a huge success. By completing the UNCF General Application, these students opened doors to potential scholarships and internships, which could greatly support their academic and professional journeys.

“Special thanks to Lady G Creation and Shirley Goodwin for their incredible support and generosity,” said Marion Wright. “This partnership provided an amazing opportunity for our students, and we are thrilled to have been able to offer such valuable resources.”

Lady G Creation is located in Columbia, SC, and specializes in custom-made clothing and accessories, offering unique fashion solutions for every occasion. This partnership underscores Voorhees University’s commitment to student success and community engagement.
