This highly anticipated event will feature 10 local and regional high school bands performing crowd-favorite selections in an electrifying atmosphere designed to entertain audiences and celebrate musical talent. Participating schools include Towers High School (Atlanta, GA), Hephzibah High School (Hephzibah, GA), Cross Keys High School (Decatur, GA), Calhoun County High School (St. Matthews, SC), Burke County High School (Waynesboro, GA), South Atlanta High School (Atlanta, GA), Butler High School (Augusta, GA), and Lakewood High School (Sumter, SC).

In addition to the performances, the Voorhees University Department of Bands will host auditions for prospective students interested in joining the university’s band program. Auditions for brass, woodwinds, percussion, dance, and auxiliary (flag) participants will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Doors will open for the Band-A-Rama showcase at 4:00 p.m., with performances judged by local band, dance, and percussion professionals. Competing bands will be evaluated based on entertainment value, technical execution, and overall presentation.
“This event not only highlights the incredible talent of young musicians across the region, but also serves as an important opportunity to connect future students with the Voorhees University band program,” said Dr. Ronnie Hopkins, President of Voorhees University. “Band-A-Rama reflects our commitment to excellence, student engagement, and providing meaningful pathways for aspiring performers.”

Band-A-Rama also serves as a fundraiser to support the operations and growth of the university’s band program, helping to ensure that students have access to the resources, instruments, and experiences needed to thrive.
