Dear Voorhees University Students,

As members of the Voorhees University community, it’s important that all students are aware of the university’s policies regarding alcohol and drugs. These policies are in place to promote the safety and well-being of our students and to comply with federal and state laws.

Federal Law Compliance:

Please be aware that federal laws, including the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act (DFSCA), require institutions of higher education to maintain and enforce policies that prohibit the unlawful possession, use, or distribution of alcohol and illicit drugs. These requirements are designed to create a safe and drug-free learning environment for all students.

Voorhees University Policies:

Voorhees University strictly prohibits the unlawful possession, use, or distribution of alcohol and illicit drugs on university property or at university-sponsored events. Violations of these policies may result in disciplinary action, including, but not limited to:

  • Disciplinary Probation
  • Suspension
  • Expulsion
  • Referral for Criminal Prosecution

For a complete overview of these policies, please refer to the Student Life & Athletics section of the Voorhees University Policy Manual

Additional Considerations:

  • Alcohol Consumption: If you are of legal drinking age (21 years or older), you are expected to consume alcohol responsibly and in accordance with all applicable laws and university policies. Excessive or irresponsible alcohol consumption can lead to serious health and safety consequences.
  • Illicit Drugs: The possession, use, or distribution of illicit drugs is strictly prohibited and may result in severe legal and disciplinary penalties.
