VOORHEES PARTNERS WITH MOTIVATED WOMAN FOR FREE COMMUNITY HEALTH FAIR 

Voorhees University has partnered with Motivated Woman and South Carolina Institutes of Innovation and Information for a free community health fair on Saturday, August 12, 10 am – 2 pm at Voorhees University, Leonard E. Dawson Center, 481 Porter Dr., Denmark, SC 29042. This free event is designed to help men and women learn how to better manage medical conditions that can be improved with screening, education, and support. “Voorhees recognizes the importance of health in our community, and we are proud to partner with Motivated Woman and South Carolina Institutes of Innovation and Information to bring awareness and education in a fun-filled environment to the Denmark area,” states Voorhees President & CEO, Dr. Ronnie Hopkins.

Dr. Teesa Brunson, founder and CEO of Motivated Woman, adds that there will be free music and several activities for kids. “This will be a fun-filled event with opportunities for everyone to enjoy while they are attending to their health needs.”

Some featured events include health screenings, mobile mammography, blood pressure checks, rapid HIV testing, covid vaccinations, line dancing, and more. There will also be educational sessions held throughout the day covering the following topics:  Improving Your Mental Health, Overcoming Cancer, Understanding Sexual and Reproductive Health, Refraining from Substance Abuse, and Preventing Diabetes.

Motivated Woman is a non-profit, charitable organization that strives to provide education, awareness, and support to women who are battling health illnesses. By providing various resources, Motivated Woman helps women navigate decisions around their health.
